Welcome to JargonSync. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms. JargonSync is operated by DataChef.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using JargonSync ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

JargonSync provides a centralized platform for managing organizational terminology and jargon. Our Service includes:

• A glossary management system for organizations to define and maintain their terminology.
• API access for AI software developers to integrate organizational jargon into their applications.
• Browser extensions and integrations for real-time jargon assistance.
• Access control and governance features for managing who can view and use your terminology.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate.
• Maintain the security of your account credentials.
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. User Types

JargonSync supports two types of users:

• Organizations: Companies and teams that create and manage glossaries of their terminology.
• AI Software Developers: Platforms and developers that integrate with JargonSync to access organization jargon via our API.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect information from the Service without authorization.
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our express written consent.
• Use the API in a manner that exceeds reasonable request volume or constitutes abuse.

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service, including glossary terms, definitions, and organizational data. By submitting content, you grant JargonSync a license to use, store, and display that content as necessary to provide the Service.

Our Service: JargonSync and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by DataChef and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. API Usage

If you access our API as an AI Software Developer:

• You must use API keys responsibly and keep them secure.
• You may only access glossaries for which you have been granted permission.
• You must comply with any rate limits and usage guidelines we provide.
• You agree not to cache or store glossary data beyond what is necessary for your integration.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to such processing and warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of our Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons, and will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JargonSync and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the effective date. Continued use after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
